The Enso Tool is a simple yet powerful creative practice that invites you to slow down, let go of perfection, and reconnect with your inner creativity. Inspired by the traditional Enso circle, this gentle exercise uses repeated circular drawing to quiet the mind and create space for reflection, insight, and new ideas to emerge naturally.
The Enso Tool is inspired by the Japanese Enso circle, a symbol of letting go and enlightenment. All you need is a pen or pencil and a piece of paper. You draw continuous circles, again and again, without worrying about a perfect shape. As you do this, you free your mind and let your creativity flow.
When we let go of perfection, we open space for new ideas. The Enso Tool allows you to step back from overthinking. It reminds you that creation is a process, not a result. As you draw, you might notice thoughts, emotions, or images arise. This is your inner wisdom, guiding you gently.
Often, when we get stuck on a problem, we focus too much on the end goal. The Enso Tool is different. By drawing circles, you stay in the present moment. You let ideas come and go, without holding on too tightly. After a few minutes, new solutions can appear naturally.
I’m excited to share that I will be presenting the Enso Tool live at a Lammas event. Join me on March 28th at Bishops Court Farm, at the Snug Café, in Dorchester-on-Thames. It will be a peaceful space to try the tool, reflect, and meet others on a similar journey.
After you’ve finished drawing, take a moment to pause.
These simple questions help you connect with your inner self and see how your emotions and creativity are shifting.
If the Enso Tool resonates with you and you’d like to explore how creative practices can support your personal growth, reflection, or life transitions, you’re warmly invited to book a discovery call with me. It’s an opportunity to talk about where you are right now and explore how coaching and creative tools can help you reconnect with yourself and move forward with clarity.
